Tata Chemicals Magadi emerged top at the Kenya Institute of Management (KIM) 2022 Company of the Year awards held on the night of Friday November 2022 at Weston Hotel Nairobi.
The company ranked top in three of the seven determinants used in rating the companies’ performance.
Leadership and management, corporate citizenship and environmental focus, and productivity and quality awards went to the company while the remaining four went to Kenya Civil Aviation Authority and National Hospital Insurance Fund which took up the first and second runners-up spots respectively.
Gertrude’s Children’s Hospital CEO Dr. Robert Nyarango bagged the Overall CEO of the Year award during the event, gaged on the parameters of integrity, excellent performance, and innovation.
“Congratulations to all the winners of the various awards and may the excellence that brought you to this success continue to be even after these awards,” Muriithi Ndegwa, CEO of KIM told participating firms.
COYA Awards are based on the organizational performance index (OPI) where processes and systems are assessed and benchmarked against global standards. Participating firms begin the process by nominating champions to attend a training program on business excellence models and OPI.
Assessors and a technical committee comprised of professionals drawn from Leadership, management, human resource, finance, and audit among other areas of expertise.
Over 20 corporates have won the top COYA accolade since the inception of the awards in the year 2000.
